Understanding Learning Difficulties, Improving Service Levels

People with learning difficulties often get a poor level of service from clinicians and other medical staff in doctors’ surgeries and hospitals. The West Bromwich based Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has taken steps to put things right by tackling the underlying causes.

The Trust commissioned Blumilk to develop an awareness raising campaign for healthcare staff working across England’s West Midland region. This followed a successful similar campaign developed by Blumilk and rolled out across North East England.

An education resource prepared by Keele University in Staffordshire acts as the focal point for the campaign – Learning Disability Made Clear.
